Owen Garling

Knowledge Transfer Facilitator, Bennett Institute

Owen Garling is the Knowledge Transfer Facilitator at the Bennett Institute for Public Policy and his work provides an important conduit between the institute’s researchers and policymakers in the UK and internationally. He is also the lead for the East Anglia Productivity Forum, part of the Productivity Institute. Owen is particularly interested in how questions of place play out in public policy, and increasingly, in the role that infrastructure plays in supporting the economic, cultural and social vibrancy of places. Owen was born in Cambridge and has a long-standing interest in the ongoing development of the city. Prior to working at the Bennett Institute he spent two decades working in a range of public sector organisations in the region.
