Léa Wenger

CEO & Co-founder, Cyclana Bio

Léa Wenger is the CEO of Cyclana Bio, a Cambridge-born start-up looking to revolutionise tissue level drug discovery in women’s health by harnessing the ‘dark matter of tissue’: the extracellular matrix.

Léa studied veterinary medicine at the University of Cambridge, before completing a PhD in Clinical Neurosciences (Lakatos Lab), working on 3D brain organoid models of disease and associated cellular diversity. She has a diverse background in biomedical research, with projects spanning neuroscience, biotremology, epigenetics and ageing.

She has years of experience in biotech, notably working in epigenetic drug discovery as a scientist at Altos Labs. There, she was diagnosed with endometriosis and decided to apply her learnings to furthering women’s health. She is also an avid triathlete and advocate for women’s sport.
