Jason Pontin

Jason Pontin is a General Partner at DCVC, where he funds and grows early-stage computational biology and chemistry startups tackling intractable diseases, accelerating scientific discovery, and transforming inefficient industries into sustainable, high-growth sectors.

Previously, Jason was a Senior Partner and Senior Advisor at Flagship Pioneering. In 2020, he cofounded Totus Medicines, a chemical biology company whose platform screens billions of small molecules against thousands of cellular targets in a single experiment, finding effective new drugs thousands of times faster and cheaper than traditional discovery.

Before venture capital, Jason was Editor in Chief and Publisher of MIT Technology Review, Senior Advisor to MIT President Susan Hockfield, and founder of Solve, MIT’s open innovation platform. He earlier founded The Acumen Journal of Life Sciences and edited Red Herring.
